WWII Camp Indianola

During WWII, soldiers from Camp Hulen (near Palacios, TX), came to Indianola for rifle, machine gun, bazooka, and artillery practice.  Even large radio controlled model planes were flown.  Many foundations for buildings and quarters still exist between and can be seen between where Hwy 316 meets the bay and towards Indian Point (the original Indianola) for approximately 1/3 mile.
